Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: District Guardian Minister Sanjay Shirsath claimed to have cancelled works approved wrongly in the District Planning Committee (DPC) last year.

It may be noted that there has been a dispute going on for the past few months between former Guardian Minister Abdul Sattar and current Guardian Minister Shirsath over their work in the DPC. Shirsath had indicated recently about taking action to cancel the wrongful works.

Talking to reporters on Wednesday, he said that CCTV cameras were installed on various roads in the city at a cost of Rs 5 crore.

Action has been taken against drug peddlers in the city and it is possible that Bangladeshis are involved in this and they will be externed. He said that the incident in Pune was bad.

Shirsath also claimed that the Shakti Act would come soon and once the law comes into effect, the perverted accused would be punished quickly.

He also urged the police to find out whether the absconding accused in the Massajog case is really alive or absconding. Criticising UBT Sena group leader Sanjay Raut, he also clarified that the Chief Minister has the right to appoint an OSD.
