Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: “To make any art of the same quality, its science needs to be understood. Although this science may seem difficult, it is necessary for song writing,” asserted Milind Joshi, the noted musician.

He was speaking at the concluding ceremony of the May Marathi Gaurav Mahotsav jointly organised by the Marathi Language and Literature Department, Student Development Department of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University and Divisional Commissioner's Office in the department on Saturday.

Milind Joshi said the gap between poetry and songs needs to be bridged.

“As a lyricist, we should be complete on paper. In songwriting, we need spoken language. If there is a dialogue between the two, there should be a dialogue,” he added. Head of the department Dr Dasu Vaidya made an introductory speech.
