Kamalnayan Bajaj Hospital marked World Thalassaemia Day on Friday, with an awareness and patient interaction programme themed “From Transfusion to Transformation: Stories of Hope Through Bone Marrow Transplant.”

Doctors, patients, families, blood donors, nurses and NGOs attended. The event included expert talks, sessions on early diagnosis and prevention, interactive discussions and testimonies from patients treated through Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT). Healthcare staff were felicitated. Consultant hemato-oncologist Dr Venkatesh Ekbote highlighted BMT as a potentially curative option, emphasising timely testing and donor support. CEO Dr George Fernandes said the day honours patients’ courage and underscores the role of advanced treatment and compassionate care in securing a healthier future.
