A tragic accident occurred on Sunday around 4:30 pm at Mahavir Chowk when a Shivai bus of the ST Corporation, traveling from Cidco Bus Stand to Pune, ran over a young man.

The deceased has been identified as Rahul Ashok Jadhav (28, Ranjanagaon Shenpunji). According to relatives, Rahul supported his family by driving an auto-rickshaw. At the time of the accident, he was walking through Mahavir Chowk when the bus (MH-20-GZ-0496), turning from Cidco towards the central bus stand, hit him. The bus wheel passed over his head, causing fatal injuries. Traffic police personnel Mali, Magre, and woman officer Khogre rushed to the spot. With the help of citizens, Rahul was moved to Ghati Hospital by rickshaw. Assistant police inspector Sachin Mirdhe also arrived at the scene. Kranti Chowk Police have taken the bus driver, Nitin Shewale (Mukundwadi), into custody, and legal proceedings were underway until late at night.
