A young woman was assaulted in a room of a prominent hotel near Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Airport following a personal dispute. The incident occurred on the evening of January 31.

The 29-year-old woman had visited the hotel near the airport on January 31 for private work. At the hotel reception, a man claiming to be “Jameer” sent a message requesting to meet her. The staff sought her permission via phone before allowing him to enter her room. However, it was later revealed that the man was not Jameer but Irshad Shaikh, a resident of Himayatbagh area. The woman informed another contact about the situation, but by then Irshad had already entered her room and assaulted her. He also snatched two of her expensive mobile phones. Upon receiving information, Assistant police inspector Kailas Lahane of the MIDC Cidco police station rushed to the hotel. A case has been registered against Irshad based on the woman’s complaint.
