The Local Crime Branch (LCB) arrested a youth in possession of a country-made pistol and two live cartridges on Wednesday as part of intensified action ahead of the Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti Elections–2026.
The accused has been identified as Vishal Palve (25, Deshgaon, tehsil Ambad, district Jalna). While an LCB team led by assistant police inspector Pawan Ingle was on night patrol in the Pachod area, confidential information was received about a suspicious person carrying a concealed weapon near Rohilagad Phata. Acting on the tip-off, the team laid a trap and apprehended the suspect. During a personal search, police recovered one country-made pistol with a brown-coloured grip and two live cartridges, illegally possessed. The seized articles, valued at approximately Rs 42,000, were confiscated. A case has been registered at the Pachod Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
