A 22-year-old youth was seriously injured after neighbours allegedly attacked him with a cutter over a dispute regarding painting of a common wall in Bakwal nagar on Saturday evening. His mother, who intervened, was also assaulted. Both are undergoing treatment at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).

The injured, Rishikesh Taral (22), works at Cosmi Company. His neighbour, Balu Karadel, allegedly abused Rukminibai Taral around 4.30 pm over the wall painting issue while exterior painting was underway at their house. Though locals initially pacified the matter, around 6:30 pm Shubham Karadel, Balu Karadel, Tushar Karadel and Jayesh Karadel allegedly confronted Rishikesh outside his house. Three held him while Shubham attacked him with a cutter, inflicting injuries on his left abdomen, left side of the head and right wrist. When Rukminibai intervened, she too was assaulted. A case has been registered at Waluj Police Station and further investigation is underway.
