A 24-year-old youth, Rahul Bagul, died on the spot after falling from his two-wheeler and being run over by a speeding vehicle from behind. The accident occurred late Thursday night on the railway flyover in the Cantonment area, said in-charge officer Dr Vivek Jadhav of Chhawani police station.
According to police, Rahul(Ramnagar in Mukundwadi), was travelling from Waluj towards the city when he lost control of his motorcycle (MH-20-HE-7220) on the railway flyover and fell onto the road. A speeding vehicle coming from behind ran him over. Locals rushed him to government medical college and hospital, but he had already succumbed to his injuries. Eyewitnesses said the driver of the vehicle fled the scene. An accidental death has been registered at the Chhawani police station.

Youth falls from flyover while trying to view accident
Meanwhile, another youth, Kaduba Sonawane, was seriously injured in a related incident. As the accident had occurred on one side of the flyover, Kaduba reportedly stopped his two-wheeler on the other side and attempted to cross over to see what had happened. However, he lost balance in the middle section between the incoming and outgoing lanes and fell off the flyover, sustaining serious injuries, Dr Jadhav said.
