The director of Kanchan Mahila Sevabhavi Sanstha’s educational institute in Wasmat duped a man of Rs 6.14 lakh by promising him a job. Acting on a court order, Kranti Chowk Police registered a case against the accused.

Police identified the accused as Indulata Jaiswal(75) and Shekhar Jaiswal (44)(both residents of Wasmat). The victim, Nitin Pardeshi (44, Hudco), originally from Gangapur taluka in Nashik district, works at a lawyer’s office. In January 2013, Indulata demanded Rs 15 lakh from him for a non-teaching staff position at the institute. Between 2013 and 2018, Nitin paid Rs 6.14 lakh. However, the accused kept delaying the job offer. When Nitin asked for his money back, they refused and allegedly threatened him. With no other option, he approached the court, which ordered an investigation. Following the court’s directive, police registered the case on Friday. PSI Ramesh Kande is investigating the case.
