A youth was taken near a wine shop at knifepoint and asked for money to buy liquor. When he refused, local miscreants repeatedly stabbed him in the abdomen and legs, leaving him seriously injured. The incident occurred on January 15, and a case was registered on January 19 against Ajay Gaikwad and his associate.

The injured youth has been identified as Kakasaheb Sathe (23), a resident of Karmad. On January 15, Kakasaheb had come to the city to visit his aunt. At around 8.30 am, while he was standing near a wine shop in Chikalthana, Ajay Gaikwad, who was allegedly intoxicated, approached him. Taking him closer to the wine shop, Gaikwad held a knife to his stomach and demanded money. When Kakasaheb refused, Gaikwad allegedly attacked him with a knife, stabbing him multiple times in the abdomen and legs. As Kakasaheb collapsed in a pool of blood, Gaikwad and his accomplice fled the scene. After his condition stabilized, a complaint was filed, following which MIDC Cidco police registered a case against the accused.
