Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A youth tried to murder an aged woman and robbed her of a gold chain at Shivajinagar of the city on Monday evening. The suspect has been identified as Akash Madhav Ambhore (25, Buldhana).
According to details, the husband of the old woman, Sunanda Deore (64), passed away a few years ago. She currently lives alone in Shivajinagar. She has high blood pressure and diabetes.
So, the woman has to go to the hospital all the time. Since she was alone, Akash, who was from the area, used to carry her to the hospital since 2018. Therefore, Sunanda trusted him.
He went to her house at 7 pm on February 9. As soon as Sunanda went to the kitchen to bring water for him, he went behind her and strangled her with a handkerchief. Sunanda's breathing stopped and she fell down.
When she regained consciousness after twenty minutes, two gold chains of 7.5 tolas were missing from her neck. She contacted her relatives and informed them about the robbery. Upon learning of the incident at 8.30, Police Inspector Ashok Bhandare rushed to the spot and started searching for Akash.

-The police got all the information about Akash by 9 am. One of his brothers and the youth who bought the two-wheeler were detained.
-During the interrogation, it was found that Akash's relatives were living in Waluj. The police started a technical investigation of Akash and his relatives' mobile numbers.
-Since Waluj's relatives did not respond, the police started searching their house.
-It was confirmed that Akash was at his relative's house around 1 am. While Police Inspector Bhandare and Sub-Inspector Vinod Bhalerao were searching for a house, a sports bike sped away from Kamalapur Phata Road.
-As suspicions grew, the police started a chase. After falling off the bike, Akash ran away into small lanes.
-Akash was caught hiding under a car in the premises. Assistant Inspector Shivaji Chaure, Anmaldar Prakash Dongre, Shivaji Shinde, Ajay Kamble, Ankush Wagh, Raju Gawli, Sandeep Kshirsagar took this action.
