Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A case was registered at Begampura Police Station against an office-bearer of the youth wing for controversial posts and comments on social media about the Vice Chancellor and Registrar of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu).

The accused has been identified as Dr Prakash Dadarao Ingle (31, Bhavsingpura). He is the State youth general secretary of the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction). University Registrar Dr Prashant Amrutkar lodged a complaint in this regard.

Ingle posted a photograph along with controversial content about VC Dr Vijay Fulari on the afternoon of April 4. He also made allegations against Fulari and Amritkar on Dr Shankar Ambhore's post.

In his complaint, Amritkar stated that this matter tarnishes the image of the university as well as the posts of VC and Registrar.

Moreover, it was also mentioned in the complaint that the comments and posts of the accused were a deliberate attempt to create a communal rift. Amrutkar lodged a complaint with Begampura police on April 7.

A case was registered against Ingle who was detained later. Assistant Inspector Sheshrao Khatane said that preventive action was taken against him by issuing a notice.
