Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

A 27-year-old youth, Ganesh Bankar, was severely attacked and his face slashed with a blade following a dispute on April 15 at 8.30 pm at Vijaynagar Chowk. The incident occurred while Ganesh was dismantling a decorative tent.

According to the police, the accused, Rohit Ghorpade (21), Lakhan Ghorpade (22), both from Vijaynagar, Sopya Rathod (22) from Satara, and Sumit Shelke (21) from Garkheda, began the assault after a panel accidentally fell near Rohit. Rohit used this as an excuse to beat Ganesh. When Rohit’s brother, Lakhan, attempted to intervene, the other accused attacked him as well. Rohit then stabbed his own brother on the thigh and head. The attackers threatened to kill Ganesh if he was seen in the area again. A case has been filed against the accused at Pundliknagar Police Station.
