The Zilla Vyapari Mahasangh (ZVM) has opposed any proposed tax increase in the upcoming municipal budget and submitted a memorandum to OBC welfare minister Atul Save, mayor, standing committee chairman, municipal commissioner, and deputy mayor. Key demands include: suspension of new establishment tax; creation of hawker zones; no hike in property tax or changes under revaluation; improved parking and public toilets; regular garbage collection on Sundays; development of a ring road and proper planning for road widening with state funds; correction of flaws in newly laid PVC water pipelines; audit of smart city works and repair at contractors’ cost; curbing corruption in development works; and implementation of poll promises. The memorandum was submitted in the presence of federation president Sanjay Kankariya, Shivshankar Swami, Laxminarayan Rathi, and other members.
