Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: To foster a scientific outlook and develop a research-oriented mindset among rural students, a trip to ISRO is being organised for meritorious students from Zilla Parishad (ZP) schools.
The primary education department conducted the first examination at the cluster level schools for students from classes 5th to 8th for this purpose.
The second examination was then held at the tehsil level on Saturday for the 1,345 students who qualified in the cluster-school level examination. Now, a selection test will be held at the district level.
As per the District Collector Deelip Swami's dashsutri plan, a selection test for the ISRO trip for students is being organised to create an environment of competitive examinations among the students.
The selection test at the tehsil level was conducted on Saturday for 10 successful students from each tehsil who had qualified in the earlier cluster-level selection test.
A total of 1345 students were present for the examination, including 161 from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar tehsil, followed by Gangapur (191), Vaijapur (192), Paithan (182, Sillod (146), Soyegaon (90), Phulambri (80), Khuldabad (73) and Kannad (230).
A selection test will now be held at the district level. A total of 45 meritorious students (5 from each tehsil) will be taken to visit ISRO by plane.
The meritorious students will be taken to visit the Space Centre of Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala), and the Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum (VITM), Bengaluru. Primary Education Officer Jayshree Chavan and other officials from the education department visited the examination acentres at the teshil level today.
