ZP to construct new administrative building on campus; MoS instructs to complete it in a year

The Zilla Parishad president Meena Shelke today informed that the presentation on new administrative building''s plan had been made before the minister of state (MoS) for rural development Abdul Sattar, in Mumbai. The ZP will construct the building on 10,838 square metres area through an approved fund of Rs 48.83 crore.

Meanwhile, the ZP administration will be shifting offices of health, panchayat, agriculture, education and sanitation departments, which are situated on the rear side of of the main building, to start the new administrative building work.

The meeting chaired by the minister of state (for revenue and rural development) Abdul Sattar was held at Mantralaya in Mumbai recently. The chief secretary (rural development) Rajesh Kumar, ZP president Meena Shelke, MLA Ramesh Bornare, vice president L G Gaikwad, chairman (Building and Construction Committee) Kishore Balande, chairman (Health Committee) Avinash Balande, chairman (Women and Child Welfare Committee) Anuradha Chavan, Shivaji Pathrikar, Raju Rathod, Ramrao Shelke, ZP chief executive officer (CEO) Mangesh Gondavale, executive engineer A Z Kazi and deputy engineer Vijay Kumar Dahale attended the meeting.

The MoS instructed the ZP administration to ensure that the new building gets completed in one year and also told not to delay the works citing technical reasons. He also instructed the CEO to shift the offices existing upon the land proposed for construction of the administrative building. The executive engineer Kazi said that the planning to shift the offices is underway.

The proposal was strongly taken up by the chairman Kishore Balande and the members. Accordingly, the proposal which was lying pending for the past 20 years got settled. The construction work of the new building is expected to start in the first week of February. The work will start after the end of code of conduct for gram panchayat elections, said the ZP president Meena Shelke while speaking to the media persons on Wednesday.
