New Delhi, Aug 19 National carrier Air India's services to Hong Kong have been temporarily halted as few passengers on board recent flights from India have tested Covid-19 positive.

Accordingly, the city's administration has asked the airline to halt services for the time being.

On its part, Air India in a statement said: "In the wake of recent d evelopments regarding operations to Hong Kong, Air India will not be operating its three flights which had been scheduled for Hong Kong till August-end. "

"Only one of these flights will operate as a cargo-only flight without any passenger from India and return from Hong Kong with passengers.

Air India was operating flights to Hong Kong under the Vande Bharat Mission.
