"We plan to hire 300 more people over the next year in addition to 200 we have recruited for the R&D facility and the support centre," Atlassian Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Sri Viswanath said in a statement here.

The company's software products such as Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket and Trello are used by 144,000 customers worldwide, including Ola Cabs, Reliance, Walmart Labs, and Flipkart to name a few.

"We have invested $416 million in R&D in fiscal year 2018, an annual increase of 34 per cent over 2017, as it (R&D) has been key to our growth and innovation," Viswanath said.

Noting that Bengaluru had some of the world's brightest tech talent, the CTO said he was upbeat that the work done in India would help the company get 100 million monthly active users.

"As innovation is the company's lifeline, we have invested substantially to make our Indian subsidiary a global R&D centre," the firm's engineering head Dinesh Ajmera said on the occasion.

The company's productivity software help teams organise, discuss and complete shared work in large and small organisations, including General Motors, Walmart Labs, Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, Lyft, Verizon, Spotify and NASA.

"Our project tracking, content creation, sharing and service management products are used to deliver quality results on time," the statement added.
