New Delhi [India], April 15: The East Coast Railway (ECoR), Sambalpur Division, has awarded a contract worth ₹2.12 crore to MIC Electronics Limited, Hyderabad, for the provision of advanced Coach Information Boards (CIBs) and Train Information Boards (TIBs) across key railway stations. The project will be implemented at stations including Bargarh Road (BGBR), Nawapara Road (NPD), Junagarh Road (JNRD), Ambodala (AMB), and Rengali (RGL), to enhance passenger information systems and improve the overall travel experience.

The scope of the project includes the installation and commissioning of digital display boards, deployment of central data control units, and integration of announcement systems, along with end-to-end execution covering supply, transportation, testing, and commissioning. All systems will be compliant with Railway Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO) specifications, ensuring high-quality, reliable infrastructure capable of 24×7 operations. The project is scheduled to be completed within six months from the date of issuance of the Letter of Acceptance.

Commenting on the development, Rakshit Mathur, CEO, MIC Electronics Ltd MIC Electronics Limited said, “We are pleased to partner with East Coast Railway for this important infrastructure upgrade. This project reflects our commitment to delivering reliable, technology-driven passenger information systems that enhance commuter experience and operational efficiency. As part of the contractual framework, MIC Electronics is required to furnish a performance guarantee equivalent to 5% of the contract value, ensuring adherence to quality and timelines. The project also includes a 12-month warranty period post commissioning, along with provisions for on-ground technical support and strict inspection protocols by authorized railway officials, whose certification will be final. Payments will be milestone-based, linked to supply, installation, and successful completion of the project.

This initiative is part of Indian Railways' continued efforts to modernize station infrastructure and deliver real-time, accurate, and accessible passenger information systems, thereby improving operational efficiency and passenger convenience across the Sambalpur Division.
