New Delhi [India], April 14: For Kukadi Valley Public School and Junior College in Yedgaon, education has never been just about marks, ranks, or textbooks. It's about something deeper. It's been about shaping character, sharpening the intellect and ensuring every student is made equipped to challenge the challenges they face. The goal is simple yet profound, to raise individuals who don't just succeed but create a societal impact.

Two years ago, the school took a bold step not just with education but towards mental health awareness and its need by introducing The Mind SyncIndia's First Mental Health Education Curriculum. In the heart of Yedgaon village, where many students come from hardworking farming families, this initiative has been a bridge to a new kind of emotional literacy. These children are now learning a language they weren't taught before, the language of their own emotions.

What started as a pilot study has now become a vital part of the school's foundation. After seeing a positive change in the student's confidence and overall mental and emotional well-being, the management made the curriculum an integral part of their scholastic journey.

The school believes in the ideology that happy teachers make happy classrooms. To bring this to life, a heartfelt gratitude to the Ministry of Education and NCERT.Their surveys and research recommended the importance of being trained in catering to mental health needs and providing psychological first aid. While the NEP 2020 and NCF have given suggestions and policies for better mental well-being, The Mind Sync believes in putting these policies into action and focuses on the results and creating an impact of it. The teachers didn't just attend the workshop but immersed themselves in the intensive training. Today, these teachers are more than just instructors; they are the frontliners of student well-being with empathy and practical tools. They help students navigate the complexities of growing up, teaching them various concepts from the neuroscience domain, emotional recognition and management, making responsible choices, and adopting healthy coping strategies.

To be able to create impact, it needs a team. A team that is focused, committed and determined to bring visible change. The pioneer of this curriculum, DrShivam Dubeya Harvard-trained psychiatrist dedicated to enhancing mental health and its awareness into Indian education. The mission is driven forward by Mr. Manas DubeyFounder of The Mind Sync, with seamless day-to-day execution led by Ms. Mayuri Godbole, Program Manager at The Mind Sync. A special heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Rohan Jadhav, Vice President at The Mind Sync, for his unwavering support and commitment to the welfare and comfort of the schools. His constant lookout for the needs of the school has made this curriculum implementation a success.

Mental health is essential to holistic education. By breaking the silence in rural areas, successful initiatives like the Mind Sync curriculum prove that emotional wellness programs are transformative for all students.

By introducing structured mental health curriculum to villages like Yedgaon in Maharashtra, Kukadi Valley Public School and Junior College is nurturing emotionally aware and resilient students while helping break long-standing stigma around mental health.

When we see children of hardworking farmers cater to their emotional needs as well as understand the people around them, the impact extends far beyond the classroom. Not only does it help them personally but goes on to creating strong bonds within communities and families as well.”

As mental health continues to emerge as an important aspect of holistic education, initiatives like this show the need for it in classrooms, especially in rural areas where mental health awareness is unspoken about. The success of this program clearly sheds light on mental health education not just for urban children but also brings a transformation in the lives of rural children.

The Mind Sync’s mental health education program is a wonderful fit with the school’s motto, “nurturing tomorrow’s future.” Students can flourish academically and emotionally in this supportive environment through teamwork. The school’s attempts to develop responsible and resilient students were greatly aided by this program, making a big stride in the direction of comprehensive student development by incorporating mental health education. The collaboration with The Mind Sync demonstrates the school’s dedication to the future prosperity and well-being of its students.
