Industries Minister K. T. Rama Rao inaugurated TSIIC-TIF-MSME green industrial park developed on 482 acres of land.

The park can house more than 450 industrial units, attracting investments of Rs 1,553 crore. It is expected to provide direct employment to 19,000 people and indirect employment to 30,000 people.

The park has been jointly developed by Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation and Telangana Industrialists Federation (TIF).

KTR, as Rama Rao is popularly known, said since 70 per cent of jobs are provided by MSME sector, the park would play a key role in providing employment to youth.

He announced that the park will be expanded to 2,000 acres in future.

A skill development centre is also being set up at the park to train the local youth. With a walk-to-work concept, a housing colony is being built in 192 acres in the park premises.

The government has provided the infrastructure and basic amenities in the park and also laid a road from the national highway to the park.

KTR stated that the Telangana government will not let industrialization happen at the cost of environment and green cover. He said that lands have been given only to green industries, and not red and orange industries in the TIF- MSME green industrial park.

He hoped that it will become a role model for the entire country.

KTR noted that Telangana with its progressive policies is showing the way to the country. He said Telangana State Industrial Project Approval and Self-Certification System (TS-iPASS) became a model for other states. Under TS-iPASS, approval is given in 15 days.

The minister claimed that 12 lakh new jobs were provided under TS-iPASS during last five years.

He said industrialists in Telangana were happy with sufficient power supply to their industries. He said that the Telangana is now a power surplus state and that the Government is able to provide 24 hrs uninterrupted power supply, not just to industries but for agriculture and also to the households.
