New Delhi [India], October 18 : The ongoing India Mobile Congress 2024 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, featured a thought-provoking panel discussion titled "Revolutionizing Content Creation in India: Harnessing AI and Digital Platforms to Engage the Next Billion Users."

The session delved into the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the evolving landscape of content creation.

In his remarks, minister Scindia highlighted India's emerging global leadership in the content creation space.

He said, "India is poised to become the content creation capital of the world, with the market projected to grow from $30 billion today to USD 480 billion by 2035."

He emphasized the democratization of information access and India's readiness to embrace next-gen technologies like 6G to lead the digital revolution. The discussion focused on how AI is reshaping content creation by complementing, rather than replacing, human creativity.

Rajiv Makhni, a technology expert, underscored AI's role in enhancing regional content production.

He said, "AI is playing a pivotal role in transforming the content landscape, but it's content creators who dominate the dynamic space."

He highlighted how AI enhances regional content, with 95 per cent of YouTube consumption in India now being in regional languages, reflecting a shift from the predominantly English-speaking digital sphere just a few years ago.

Bollywood actress and sports anchor Sahiba Bali sought to reassure content creators that AI is not a threat but an enabler, improving the quality and reach of content.

"AI enables us to offer commentary in multiple regional languages, which enhances accessibility," she said, adding that while AI helps with tasks like scriptwriting and translations, the human touch remains irreplaceable, giving creators an edge.

Digital creator Naman Deshmukh echoed the panel's sentiment on AI's empowering capabilities, sharing his experience of using AI-enhanced platforms to simplify content and rapidly expand his audience.

He highlighted AI's potential to educate and raise awareness, presenting creators with unprecedented opportunities to spread meaningful information.

The panel agreed that AI offers vast opportunities for expanding revenue streams, reducing costs, and tapping into new markets, particularly in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities where content consumption patterns are rapidly evolving. AI's ability to facilitate real-time personalization and audience interaction is set to drive exponential growth in the creative economy.
