Surat (Gujarat) [India], February 25:During the three-day Mehndi Conference “Henna Huddle” held in London from January 24 to 26, 2025, Nimishaben Parekh, the founder of Mehndi Culture and a well-known mehndi artist from Surat, taught the art of innovative mehndi designs and provided guidance on pursuing a career in mehndi art. Her attractive mehndi designs featuring Warli art were highly appreciated here.

Nimishaben Parekh stated that she was invited to teach mehndi at this three-day conference held at the Hilton Hotel in London. “I specifically taught Warli art in mehndi form here. Warli is a folk art of India, and I started working on it many years ago. As a symbol of Indian culture, Warli art in mehndi form was greatly admired. Many artists from India and abroad were impressed by Warli art and expressed their desire to work with innovative ideas in this art. This is truly my effort to preserve the beautiful Warli culture by promoting its words, knowledge, significance, and aesthetics.”

In addition to this, I taught two more topics at the event. The first was the fundamentals of mehndi, which covers the basic aspects of mehndi and is connected to the creative aspects of designing. The second topic was teaching mehndi art through captivating floral creative designs. She provided guidance on designing mehndi art featuring her signature flowers like roses and lotuses with creativity, which was highly appreciated by the delegates present.

She further added that previously, in 2018, she had been invited to teach Warli and Kolam art. Now, for the second time, she was invited again. Participants from various countries such as the USA, Spain, the Netherlands, Prague, and others attended this event. The effort to present the centuries-old Warli art in mehndi form on an international stage was a success. Organizers from other countries also expressed interest in showcasing Indian cultural art.
