Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], February 6: Samsung, India's largest consumer electronics brand, announced the certification of 2,000 students in Karnataka under its flagship Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) programme, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to building a future-ready talent ecosystem in the state.

The programme is part of Samsung's CSR initiative, implemented in partnership with the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI), accredited by NCVET, and executed by Mapping Skills Technology Pvt. Ltd. The certification ceremony was held at the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru.

The event was graced by Basavaraj Horatti, Hon'ble Chairperson, Karnataka Legislative Council; Shri Santosh S. Lad, Minister for Labour and Employment, Government of Karnataka; Shri Byrathi Suresh, Minister for Urban Development and Town Planning, Government of Karnataka; Mr. Saroj Apato, Vice President - Strategic Partner, ESSCI; Dr. S. V. Suresha, Vice Chancellor, University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru; and Mr. SP Chun, Corporate Vice President, Samsung Southwest Asia.

Under the Bengaluru initiative, 1,100 students were certified in Artificial Intelligence, while 900 students completed Coding & Programming courses. The industry-aligned curriculum emphasizes hands-on learning and practical application, equipping youth with job-relevant digital skills aligned to evolving industry needs. In addition to technical training, students also received soft-skills training and employability support to enhance workplace readiness.

Samsung Innovation Campus is currently operational across 10 states in India and serves as a key pillar of Samsung's commitment to the Government of India's Skill India Mission. Building on the success in Karnataka, Samsung reaffirmed its intent to further expand its skilling interventions in the state, contributing to its national goal of upskilling 20,000 students in future technologies.

Launched in India in 2022, Samsung Innovation Campus focuses on expanding access to future-tech education, particularly in underserved and semi-urban regions. Nationally, the programme has recorded 45% women participation, underscoring Samsung's focus on inclusive and equitable skilling.

Alongside initiatives such as Samsung Solve for Tomorrow and Samsung DOST, Samsung Innovation Campus reflects the company's long-term commitment to strengthening India's digital skilling ecosystem.
