Tata Teleservices pays additional Rs 2,000 cr for AGR dues

Tata Teleservices on Tuesday made a Rs 2,000 crore payment to adjust for the self-assessment gaps between its own and DoT's AGR figures, taking its total payment to Rs 4,197 crore.

New Delhi, March 3 Tata Teleservices on Tuesday made a Rs 2,000 crore payment to adjust for the self-assessment gaps between its own and DoT's AGR figures, taking its total payment to Rs 4,197 crore.

Official sources said this payment was made by the company after gaps were pointed out to the company.

So far, Airtel has paid Rs 18,000 crore, Vodafone Idea Rs 3,500 crore while TTSL had earlier paid Rs 2,197 crore on an AGR bill of over Rs 14,000 crore, saying this is the final self-assessment amount on AGR.

DoT later brought to its notice some amounts not being calculated.

Tata Teleservices did not respond to queries on this.
