New Delhi (India), July 10:  In the heartland of India, where the sacred rivers Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati converge, lies Prayagraj – a city steeped in spirituality and heritage. It is here that the Sangam Challengers, representing this holy city, embark on a journey that blends tradition with modern sportsmanship in the inaugural Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League (UPKL).

The name ‘Sangam Challengers‘ pays homage to the divine confluence (Sangam) of the rivers, symbolising unity and convergence – values that resonate deeply within the team’s spirit. Just as the rivers merge to form a powerful force, the Sangam Challengers unite players from diverse backgrounds under one banner, fostering camaraderie and determination.

Founded with a vision to nurture emerging talent, the UPKL serves as a springboard for players aspiring to reach the pinnacle of Kabaddi excellence. Supporting this ambitious journey is Plusgen India Private Limited, a pioneering force in healthcare distribution. Established in 2023 under the esteemed Plus Distribution Private Limited group, Plusgen is dedicated to revolutionising healthcare access across India. As the sole selling agent for Gufic Biosciences Limited's affordable medicine division, GUFIC PURE, Plusgen exemplifies commitment to quality, integrity, and community welfare, values that align seamlessly with the Sangam Challengers’ mission.

“From childhood, Kabaddi has been an integral part of our cultural fabric, connecting us deeply with our roots and instilling values of teamwork and perseverance. Through the Sangam Challengers, we aspire to empower grassroots sports development to provide local talent with a stage to showcase their skills. Our vision is to see these players not only excel in the Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League but also rise to represent our nation internationally. This journey is not just about sports; it’s about nurturing dreams and building a legacy of excellence.”

The star-studded lineup of Sangam includes the likes of Bhanu Pratap Tomar who has played for UP Yoddhas in Pro Kabaddi League, Abhijeet Malik, who also plays for Jaipur Pink Panthers in Pro Kabaddi League, Vijay Kumar, Senior Gold Medalist & Military Man who has represented many teams like Tamil Thalaivas, Telugu Titans, to name a few. Apart from these players, there is a good mix of experience plus youth in the team who have played at the State and National levels.

In a land where spirituality meets athleticism, the Sangam Challengers stand as torchbearers of ambition and unity. As they prepare to make their mark in the Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League, supported by Plusgen India Private Limited, the team embodies the resilience and aspiration of a city that has witnessed history unfold at the confluence of sacred rivers. Join us on this exhilarating journey as we write the next chapter of Kabaddi.

UPKL starts on July 11th while the final is to be played on July 25th. All the games will be streamed live on Sony Sports SD+HD, Fancode, and DD Sports. With eight teams set to dive deep into this Kabaddi's Maha Kumbh, it remains to be seen who holds their breath for the longest period of time.
