Who Is Albinder Dhindsa? Blinkit Founder Replaces Deepinder Goyal as CEO of Zomato’s Parent Company, Eternal

Founder and chief executive officer (CEO), Deepinder Goyal, resigned from the post of Eternal Ltd, the parent company of Zomato. The announcement made by Goyal on X (formerly) is that he will step down as CEO on February 1, 2026.

In a letter he posted, which was sent to the company's stakeholders, he announced his successor, Albinder Dhindsa (Albi), the founder and CEO of Blinki. Dhindsa, who is currently the founder and CEO of online grocery delivery platform Blinkit, will now take charge of Eternal's operations. However, Goyal will remain on the board to focus on long-term strategy. Goyal has guided Zomato from the beginning. 

Deepinder Goyal while sharing letter to stakeholders announced, "Today, I am going to step away from the Group CEO role, and subject to shareholders' approval, will remain on the board of directors as Vice Chairman. Albinder Dhindsa (Albi) will be Eternal's new Group CEO."

Who Is Albinder Dhindsa?

Albinder Dhindsa completed his BTech from IIT-Delhi in 2004, which is one of the engineering schools. He also completed his MBA from Columbia Business School in New York from the year 2010 to 2012, according to The Times of India report.

During his learning at the Columbia Business School, he groomed himself in technical and business skills, which laid the foundation for his future work in startups and leadership. Before becoming the corporate leader, Dhindsa worked as a consulting and finance advisor.

Dhindsa also worked as a Transportation Analyst at URS Corporation from 2005 to 2007 and later as a Senior Associate at Cambridge Systematics from 2007 to 2010. Dhindsa also worked as an associate at UBS Investment Bank in New York for shot period of time in 2011, where he gained experience in global finance.

In the same year, 2011, Dhindsa joined Zomato as Head of International Operations. At the food e-commerce company, he worked for the company in other countries and helped the company to grow its tech business across India.

Blinkit in 2014

In the year 2014, Dhindsa founded Blinkit (formerly known as Grofers). His focus was on how to make Blinkit to deliver groceries and other essential items at ultra-fast speed. He took Blinkit to India's top leading quick e-commerce platform in 12 years.

Now, Blinkit is known for its efficient operation, smart logistics and quick delivery platform, which helps the parent company Eternal to grow larger than ever.

Praising Dhindsa, Deepinder Goyal, in a letter said, "Blinkit's journey from acquisition to breakeven happened under his leadership. He built the team, the culture, the supply chain, the operating rhythm. He has the DNA of a battle-hardened founder and his ability to execute far exceeds mine. He is more than capable of leading Eternal as Group CEO."
