Lucknow Super Giants' Nicholas Pooran put on a power-hitting display against Delhi Capitals, smashing 28 runs off Tristan Stubbs in a single over during their IPL 2025 match at the Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium on Friday.
Pooran walked in at No. 3 and took charge from the start. His brutal assault on Stubbs came in the 13th over, where he hammered four consecutive sixes and a boundary after a dot ball.
The over began quietly with Pooran playing a dot. On the next delivery, he swept a ball on middle and leg over deep backward square leg for a massive six. He repeated the shot on the third ball, sending a tossed-up delivery over long-on for another maximum.
Pooran wasn’t done. He smashed the fourth ball — another floated delivery — over long-on for his third consecutive six. Stubbs tried to change his length, but the left-hander stayed firm, launching the next ball over long-off for his fourth six of the over. Pooran finished in style, drilling a full delivery past the bowler for four on the final ball.
He raced to his half-century in just 24 balls and ended with a blistering 75 off 30, striking at 250. His innings included six fours and seven sixes before Mitchell Starc dismissed him in the 15th over.
Thanks to Pooran’s fireworks and Mitchell Marsh’s quickfire 72 off 36 at the top, LSG posted a commanding total of 209. For DC, Kuldeep Yadav was the standout bowler with 2 for 20.
