Chasing India’s 271 for five, New Zealand managed 225 before being bowled out.
Kishan scored 103 off 43 balls, hitting six fours and ten sixes, while captain Suryakumar Yadav contributed 63 off 30 balls. The pair shared a 137-run third-wicket stand, turning the game in India’s favour. Pandya’s late cameo of 42 off 17 balls helped India surpass 250 for the fourth time in T20I history.
Arshdeep Singh, after conceding 40 runs in his first two overs, bounced back to take five wickets for 51 runs. Spinner Axar Patel (3/33) and Varun Chakravarthy (1/36) also played key roles in containing New Zealand after the Power Play.
For New Zealand, opener Finn Allen led the chase with 80 off 38 balls, including a 100-run second wicket stand with Rachin Ravindra (30 off 17 balls), before falling to Axar Patel. Despite his effort, New Zealand could not reach the target.
