Pakistan national cricket team captain Shaheen Shah Afridi won the toss and chose to bowl first against Bangladesh national cricket team in the series-deciding third One-Day International of the Pakistan tour of Bangladesh 2026 at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on Sunday, March 15, 2026. The three-match series is tied 1-1 after both teams registered convincing victories in the opening two matches.

Afridi said Pakistan opted to bowl due to favorable conditions and the possibility of rain later in the match. He also confirmed three changes in Pakistan’s lineup because of injuries and workload management. Shamyl Hussain and Hussain Talat are sidelined due to injuries sustained in the previous game, while Mohammad Wasim Jr has been rested. Pakistan handed ODI debuts to Ghazi Ghori and Saad Masood.

Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz said he was confident about his side’s chances with the bat and emphasized the importance of partnerships on what he described as a good wicket. He added that a total around 260 would be competitive in the conditions. Bangladesh named an unchanged playing XI for the series-deciding match.
