Himanshu Shah, secretary of SCA confirmed on Wednesday that sore throat and body weakness kept Cheteshwar Pujara out of action on the third day's play in the Ranji Trophy final between Saurashtra and Bengal in Rajkot, "There is nothing serious. It's just sore throat and a bit of body weakness that he was complaining about," Shah told Cricbuzz. "Pujara was rested only as a precautionary measure since Saurashtra were fielding. He should be able to take the field tomorrow, but that will be assessed in the morning."

The 32-year-old who had a tough series  in New Zealand chipped in with an important half-century in Saurashtra's first-innings effort of 425. Pujara stitched a 142-run stand with Arpit Vasavada on the second day, putting to the sword Bengal's pack of bowlers. He batted at No. 6 then because he was suffering from fever and throat infection. He even had to retire-hurt after facing 24 balls on Day 1 and resumed his innings next day.
