Bethell smacked 55 off 35 balls, laced with four fours and four sixes. Meanwhile, Harry Brook slammed 53 off 32 balls, including four fours and three sixes. Will Jacks remained unbeaten at 39* off 18 balls. Meanwhile, Nandan Yadav removed Jos Buttler (26) in the fifth over. They also suffered an early setback as Phil Salt (1) fell to Sher Malla in the second over. It was Malla's first wicket off his first ball in international cricket, and it gave Nepal a strong start.
