India vs England Semi Final 2026: Former Pakistan national cricket team captain Rashid Latif has predicted that England cricket team will defeat India national cricket team in their high-stakes semifinal of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday, March 5,2026. Speaking on a television show in Pakistan, Latif said England have the balance and confidence to progress to the final. "England will win the semifinals," Latif said. "They are coming from difficult conditions, and 2-3 batters have succeeded. That's what they need and their middle order is strong."

“England know these conditions very well. Even if just one England player performs, that will be enough for India to lose," Latif added.

The winner of Thursday’s semifinal will face New Zealand, who reached the title clash after beating South Africa in the first semifinal. India and England have produced several memorable matches in the tournament over the years. India currently lead the head-to-head record in T20 World Cup meetings 3-2.

Their first clash came in the inaugural 2007 edition when India secured an 18-run victory. The match is widely remembered for Yuvraj Singh hitting six sixes in an over. England responded with a narrow win in the 2009 tournament, while India dominated the 2012 meeting with a 90-run victory.

England then produced a strong performance to defeat India in the 2022 tournament and reach the final. India turned the tables again in the 2024 edition under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. Despite India’s favourable record, Latif believes England hold the advantage this time.
