This is not the first controversy involving the Indian flag in the tournament. A video from the National Stadium in Karachi before the event showed flags of all participating nations except India. The omission sparked backlash online. The Pakistan Cricket Board later clarified that only the flags of teams playing in Pakistan were displayed, citing India’s decision to play its matches in Dubai. The issue was resolved when the Indian flag was eventually hoisted at Karachi during the opening game between Pakistan and New Zealand.

On the field, hosts Pakistan have been eliminated from the semi-final race.

Their campaign started with a 60-run loss to New Zealand after conceding 320 runs. In their latest match against India in Dubai, Pakistan managed only 241 runs. Virat Kohli’s unbeaten century led India to victory in less than 43 overs.
