Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh responded to criticism of Hindi commentary after a fan shared a video urging improvements in analysis and content.
The fan posted on social media platform X, expressing disappointment over how Hindi commentary has shifted from technical discussions to storytelling and poetry. He recalled past commentators like Maninder Singh, Arun Lal, and Sushil Doshi, who provided deeper insights into the game.
Harbhajan, who is part of the commentary panel alongside Virender Sehwag, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina, Robin Uthappa, and Ambati Rayudu, assured that the feedback would be considered. “Thanks for the input. We will work on it,” he wrote.
The response went viral as several users agreeing that Hindi commentary has become less analytical.
This is not the first time Harbhajan has addressed criticism. During the Champions Trophy, after India’s win over Pakistan, a fan called Hindi commentary the “cringiest.” Harbhajan had then reacted strongly. “Wah Angrej ki Aulaad . Shame on you, Apni भाषा bolne aur sun k fakr mehsoos hona chahiye," Harbhajan Singh wrote.
