England chased down 165 with five balls to spare, finishing at 166 for 8 in 19.1 overs. Brook led the effort with 100 off 51 balls, hitting 10 fours and four sixes. He became the first captain to score a century in a men’s T20 World Cup match and guided England to their second straight win in the Super Eight stage.

Will Jacks contributed 28 runs in support of Brook during a key partnership that kept England’s chase on track.

For Pakistan, Shaheen Shah Afridi returned figures of 4 for 30, while Usman Tariq took 2 for 31. Despite late wickets that briefly raised hopes of a comeback, England held their nerve to seal the win.

Earlier, Pakistan posted 164 for 9 after choosing to bat. Sahibzada Farhan top-scored with 63 off 45 balls, while Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman made 25 each.

England’s bowlers shared the wickets, with Liam Dawson claiming 3 for 24. Jamie Overton and Jofra Archer picked up two wickets apiece.

The victory ensured England became the first team to confirm a semi-final berth in this year’s tournament.
