India National Under-19 Cricket Team vs Bangladesh National Under-19 Cricket Team Match Scorecard: India registered a thrilling 18-run win over Bangladesh in a rain-affected match at the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2026 on Saturday. The seventh match of the tournament was reduced to 29 overs per side in the second innings due to frequent rain interruptions. With this victory, the Ayush Mhatre-led side recorded their second straight win in the competition.

India had earlier defeated the United States in their opening match of the tournament. Fast bowler Vihaan Malhotra was named Player of the Match for his outstanding spell that turned the game in India’s favour.

Chasing a revised target of 165 under the DLS method, Bangladesh got off to a poor start as opener Zawad Abrar was dismissed for five in the first over by Deepesh Devendran. Md Rifat Beg and Md Azizul Hakim Tamim then steadied the innings, taking Bangladesh to 54 for one after 10 overs. Kanishk Chouhan broke the partnership by removing Rifat Beg for 37 in the 12th over.

Rain halted play during the 18th over, after which the match was shortened to 29 overs. Bangladesh crossed 100 runs in the 20th over, but India struck at regular intervals. Vihaan Malhotra dismissed Kalam Siddiki Aleen for 15, before Azizul Hakim Tamim brought up his half-century off 70 balls. Tamim was soon dismissed for 51 by Khilan Patel, triggering a collapse.

Bangladesh lost their remaining wickets quickly and were bowled out for 146 in 28.3 overs. Malhotra finished with figures of 4 for 14 from four overs. Khilan Patel took two wickets, while Kanishk Chouhan, Henil Patel and Deepesh Devendran claimed one each.

Earlier, half-centuries from Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Abhinav Kundu helped India post 238 runs after being bowled out in 48.4 overs. Bangladesh won the toss and chose to field. The match also saw a brief moment of attention before the start when Indian captain Ayush Mhatre and Bangladesh vice-captain Zawad Abrar skipped the customary handshake.

India suffered early setbacks as Mhatre was dismissed for six and Vedant Trivedi was out for a duck in the third over. Suryavanshi counterattacked and reached his half-century in just 30 balls. At 14 years and 296 days, he became the youngest player to score a fifty at a Men’s Under-19 World Cup.

Suryavanshi was dismissed for 72 after adding 62 runs with Kundu. He also became the seventh Indian batter to cross 1,000 runs in Youth ODIs. Kundu and Kanishk Chouhan rebuilt the innings before Chouhan was dismissed for 28. Kundu went on to score 80 off 112 balls.

Rain again interrupted play in the later stages, reducing the match to 49 overs per side. Bangladesh bowler Al Fahad starred with the ball, picking up five wickets for 38 runs as India were eventually bowled out for 238.

Despite Fahad’s effort, India’s bowlers held their nerve in the shortened chase to seal a hard-fought win.
