Mohammed Shami led India’s bowling attack with a brilliant five-wicket haul as Bangladesh were bowled out for 228 in the first innings of their ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 Group A match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Thursday.
Bangladesh's decision to bat first quickly backfired as Shami made early inroads, reducing them to a precarious 35/5 in just 8.3 overs. The right-arm pacer consistently troubled the Bangladesh batters, using his pace and accuracy to devastating effect. Shami struck early to remove key players and continued to dominate throughout his spell.
Jaker Ali and the lower order attempted to steady the ship, but Shami returned to dismiss the dangerous Jaker, breaking crucial partnerships. Shami finished with exceptional figures of 5/53 in his 10 overs.
