India National Cricket Team vs England Cricket Team Match: England captain Harry Brook won the toss and elected to field against India in the second semifinal of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday, March 5, 2026. India named an unchanged lineup for the semifinal, while England made one change with Overton coming into the side. The winner of the contest will face New Zealand national cricket team in the final of the tournament. 

 Brook said the pitch looked good for batting but preferred to chase in the high-pressure knockout match. India captain Suryakumar Yadav said his side would have preferred to bat first in the high-pressure knockout. He noted there was some wind around and expected little dew later in the evening, adding that the pitch looked “the best one” and credited the curators and grounds staff for preparing the surface.
