India National Cricket Team vs England Cricket Team Match: Defending champions India will take on England in the second semifinal of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 at Wankhede Stadium on Thursday, March 5, 2026. The winner will face New Zealand in the final in Ahmedabad on Sunday. New Zealand booked their place in the summit clash after defeating South Africa by nine wickets in the first semifinal at Eden Gardens on Wednesday.

Weather conditions in Mumbai are currently expected to remain clear. However, concerns remain among fans after two earlier matches in the tournament were washed out due to rain. To avoid disruption at the knockout stage, the International Cricket Council has scheduled a reserve day for both semifinals. If rain or bad weather stops play on the scheduled day, the match can continue or restart the following day to help ensure a result.

Additional playing time has also been included. The semifinals have up to 90 minutes of extra time on the main day, while the reserve day allows up to 120 minutes of additional play if required. The final will have 120 minutes of extra time on both the main day and the reserve day.

For a match result to be declared, each team must bat at least 10 overs. If rain prevents that on the main day, the game will resume on the reserve day from the exact point where it stopped rather than starting again.

If the match still cannot be completed after the reserve day, the rules favour the team that finished higher in the Super 8 stage. In that case, England would progress to the final because they topped their Super 8 group with three wins, while India finished second in their group.
