Led by a powerful innings from Sanju Samson, who scored 89, India’s top order dominated the New Zealand bowling attack after being invited to bat first in the championship match.

Samson and opener Abhishek Sharma launched an aggressive start, attacking from the opening overs with a flurry of boundaries and sixes. The momentum continued as Ishan Kishan kept the scoring rate high with a brisk 54 off 25 balls. India crossed the 200-run mark within 15 overs as the New Zealand bowlers struggled to contain the relentless assault.
