India National Cricket Team vs Pakistan National Cricket Team Match: A fresh twist emerged in the ongoing row over the Pakistan vs India match at the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 after the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) urged the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to take part in the scheduled group-stage fixture on February 15, 2026.

In a press release issued late Monday, the BCB requested Pakistan to reconsider its decision not to play against India in the tournament. “The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) extends its sincere appreciation to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the International Cricket Council (ICC), and all involved for their positive roles in trying to overcome recent challenges,” the statement said.

The BCB also thanked PCB chairman Mohsin Raza Naqvi and the Pakistan cricket fans, saying the board had shown “exemplary sportsmanship and solidarity.”

BCB president Md. Aminul Islam, who recently visited Pakistan, appealed to the PCB to feature in the high-profile clash. “Following my short visit to Pakistan yesterday and given the forthcoming outcomes of our discussions, I request Pakistan to play the ICC T20 World Cup game on 15 February against India for the benefit of the entire cricket ecosystem,” Aminul said in the statement.

Earlier this month, the Pakistan government cleared its team to travel to Sri Lanka for the World Cup but ruled out participation in the Feb. 15 match against India.

“The Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan grants approval to the Pakistan Cricket Team to participate in the ICC World T20 2026, however, the Pakistan Cricket Team shall not take the field in the match scheduled on 15th February against India,” a government statement posted on X said.

The dispute traces back to Bangladesh’s request to shift its matches from India to Sri Lanka, citing security concerns. The ICC did not approve the request. Pakistan supported Bangladesh’s proposal during an ICC board meeting, and Naqvi had earlier warned of a possible boycott of the tournament.

After Bangladesh refused to play its matches in India, it was replaced by Scotland in the competition.

With less than a week left for the India-Pakistan fixture, there is no official word from the PCB on whether it will review its decision.
