India National Cricket Team vs Pakistan National Cricket Team Match Scorecard: Ishan Kishan struck a fluent 77 off 40 balls as India beat Pakistan by 61 runs to seal a Super 8 berth at the T20 World Cup 2026 on Sunday, February 15, 2026. On a slow surface at the R Premadasa Stadium, India posted 175 for 7 after being asked to bat. Pakistan were then bowled out for 114 in 18 overs as India’s spinners tightened the grip after early strikes from the pacers.

Kishan set the tone after Abhishek Sharma fell in the opening over to Pakistan captain Salman Agha. The left-hander attacked from the outset, pulling Shaheen Afridi for six off the first ball he faced. He targeted the spinners, hitting Abrar Ahmed for three successive boundaries to bring up his half-century and taking 17 runs off an over from Shadab Khan.

Pakistan used six slow bowlers, a World Cup record, but Kishan kept the scoreboard moving during the powerplay. He was eventually bowled by Saim Ayub after a change of pace deceived him. At that stage, India were well placed at 88 for 2.

The scoring rate dipped after his dismissal as the pitch offered turn. From 89 for 2 after nine overs, India managed only 38 runs in the next six overs. Ayub finished with 3 for 25 and briefly pulled Pakistan back with two wickets in the 15th over.

Suryakumar Yadav made 32 off 29 balls and tried to rebuild. Usman Tariq removed the India captain in the penultimate over, but late boundaries from Shivam Dube and Rinku Singh lifted India past 170.

Pakistan’s chase never recovered from a poor start. Hardik Pandya struck in the first over when Sahibzada Farhan miscued a pull. In the next over, Jasprit Bumrah trapped Ayub leg before wicket with a yorker and had Agha caught as Pakistan slipped to 13 for 3.

Axar Patel then bowled Babar Azam to deepen the crisis. Usman Khan offered resistance with 44, but he was stumped off Axar as wickets continued to fall. Varun Chakaravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav kept things tight in the middle overs, while Hardik returned to finish the innings with two overs to spare.

With the win, India remained unbeaten in Group A and advanced to the Super 8 stage. Pakistan, who have four points from three matches, must beat Namibia in their final group game to stay in contention.
