India National Cricket Team vs Pakistan National Cricket Team Match: The much-awaited T20 World Cup 2026 match between India and Pakistan at the R. Premadasa Stadium on Sunday faces the risk of rain disruption. Weather forecasts indicate a strong chance of showers during the day in Colombo, although conditions are expected to improve by evening.

According to the playing conditions of the International Cricket Council, at least five overs per side must be completed for a T20 match to produce a result. If rain prevents this, the game will be declared a 'no result,' and both teams will share one point each. There is no reserve day for group-stage matches. Reserve days are reserved for the semifinals and final. If the India-Pakistan match is washed out completely, it will not be replayed.

If some play is possible but interrupted by rain, the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method will determine the result. However, if conditions do not improve enough to complete the minimum overs, fans may miss out on a full contest between the two sides. A no-result outcome will give each team one point in the Group A standings, which could still keep both India and Pakistan in contention for the next stage, depending on other results and net run rate.

Both sides have made a strong start to the tournament. India, the defending champion, defeated the United States before registering a 93-run win over Namibia. Pakistan recovered from a nervy outing against the Netherlands to seal a narrow victory and then beat the USA comfortably.

The two teams have frequently shared the same group in recent global events, including the last five T20 World Cups and the previous two ODI World Cups. India holds a clear edge in T20 World Cup meetings, winning seven of the eight matches played against Pakistan. India also enjoys a solid record at the Colombo venue.
