India National Cricket Team vs South Africa National Cricket Team Match Scorecard: South Africa recovered from an early collapse to post 187 for 7 against India in their Super Eight match of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 on Sunday. After being sent in to bat, the Proteas were reduced to 20 for 3 inside four overs, but a 97-run stand between David Miller and Dewald Brevis revived the innings at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Jasprit Bumrah struck early, clean bowling Quinton de Kock for six in the second over. In the next over, Arshdeep Singh removed captain Aiden Markram for four, with Hardik Pandya taking a simple catch. Bumrah then dismissed Ryan Rickelton for seven as South Africa slipped to 20 for 3.

Miller and Brevis counter-attacked to steady the innings. The pair added 41 runs in the powerplay and targeted India’s bowlers in the middle overs. In the ninth over, they took 17 runs off Varun Chakaravarthy as South Africa reached 84 for 3 at the halfway mark.

The partnership was broken in the 13th over when Shivam Dube dismissed Brevis for 45 off 29 balls, which included three fours and three sixes. Miller brought up his half-century off 26 balls in the same over, his second fifty against India in a T20 World Cup after his unbeaten 59 at Perth in 2022.

Miller continued his aggressive approach before falling for 63 off 35 balls, hitting seven fours and three sixes. Chakaravarthy claimed his wicket but finished with expensive figures of 1 for 47.

South Africa lost Marco Jansen for two, dismissed by Arshdeep, and Corbin Bosch for five, caught and bowled by Bumrah. Bumrah ended with 3 for 15 and also went past Ravichandran Ashwin’s tally of 32 wickets to become India’s highest wicket-taker in T20 World Cup history.

A late unbeaten 44 off 24 balls from Tristan Stubbs, including one four and three sixes, lifted South Africa to 187 for 7. Hardik Pandya conceded 20 runs in the final over.

For India, Arshdeep returned figures of 2 for 28, Bumrah 3 for 15, Chakaravarthy 1 for 47 and Dube 1 for 32.
