India National Cricket Team vs West Indies National Cricket Team Match Scorecard: Centuries from Dhruv Jurel and Ravindra Jadeja helped India take a 286-run lead at stumps on day two of the first Test against the West Indies at Narendra Modi Stadium. India ended the day at 448 for five in 128 overs. Jadeja remained unbeaten on 104 while Washington Sundar was 9 not out. Jadeja became the third Indian centurion of the innings, following KL Rahul and Jurel. He celebrated his hundred with an aggressive sword-style gesture. Khary Pierre claimed his first Test wicket by removing Jurel for 125 off 210 balls. The pair had added 206 runs for the fifth wicket.
India began the third session at 326 for four, with Jurel on 68 and Jadeja on 50. The duo steadily increased the lead, crossing 350 runs in the 108th over and reaching a 150-run partnership by the 112th over. Jurel brought up his maiden Test century with a four off Roston Chase. He became the 12th Indian wicketkeeper-batter to score a Test century and the fifth to do so against West Indies.
Earlier, KL Rahul scored 100 in 190 balls, hitting 12 boundaries. He was dismissed at 218 for four, caught by Justin Greaves off Jomel Warrican. Skipper Shubman Gill made 50 before falling to a reverse-sweep attempt.
The West Indies were bowled out for 162 in their first innings. Mohammed Siraj took four wickets and Jasprit Bumrah claimed three. Justin Greaves top-scored with 32.
