India National Cricket Team vs South Africa National Cricket Team Match Scorecard: Ishan Kishan’s explosive half-century helped India seal a 30-run win over South Africa in their only warm-up match ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup on Wednesday. Opening the batting, Kishan smashed 53 off just 20 balls, hitting seven sixes and two fours, as India piled up 240 on a flat pitch at the DY Patil Stadium. The left-hander put on an 80-run opening stand with Abhishek Sharma inside the powerplay to give India a flying start.

India then used nine bowling options to restrict South Africa to 210 for seven. Abhishek returned figures of 2 for 32 from three overs, while Arshdeep Singh picked up an early wicket. Jasprit Bumrah was rested for the match.

South Africa experimented by promoting George Linde to open alongside Aiden Markram, but the move failed as Linde was dismissed for a four-ball duck in the first over. Markram retired out after making 38. Ryan Rickelton top-scored with 44 off 21 balls, while Tristan Stubbs struck an unbeaten 45 off 21 deliveries. Jason Smith added 35.

India pacer Harshit Rana bowled just one over, conceding 16 runs, before leaving the field and not returning.

Earlier, Kishan dominated the South Africa attack, punishing Anrich Nortje for 29 runs in one over. He retired after reaching his half-century as India looked to give as many batters as possible time in the middle.

Tilak Varma impressed with a quick 45 off 19 balls before being bowled by Marco Jansen. Captain Suryakumar Yadav made 30 off 16 balls and was dropped once, while Axar Patel scored 35 off 23 deliveries. Hardik Pandya provided the late surge with 30 off 10 balls.

With Sanju Samson struggling for runs, Kishan is expected to open the batting alongside Abhishek Sharma in India’s tournament opener against the United States at the Wankhede Stadium on Feb. 7.
