At one stage, India was 46/4 before Yadav, and Axar Patel steadied the innings.
Suryakumar Yadav was the star with an unbeaten 84, hitting 10 fours and 4 sixes. His innings, which included his sixth T20 World Cup fifty, guided India to 161/9. Yadav now has 564 T20 World Cup runs from 18 matches, surpassing former Indian stars MS Dhoni and Gautam Gambhir in career tournament runs.
In the chase, USA lost early wickets, including Andries Gous (6) and fell to 13/3. A 58-run partnership between Milind Kumar (34) and Sanjay Krishnamurthi (37) gave them hope, but India’s bowlers fought back. Mohammed Siraj took 3/19, while Arshdeep Singh (2/18) and Axar Patel (2/24) applied pressure. Varun Chakravarthy also chipped in with 1/24. Shubham Ranjane scored a valiant 37 off 22 balls, but the USA could not reach the target.
