The match between @BCCI and @EnglandCricket registered a peak digital concurrency of 65.2 million viewers @JioHotstar which is the highest for any live event across the world,” Shah wrote on X.
He said the numbers showed the ability of marquee cricket events to bring together large numbers of fans. “This demonstrates the unparalleled capacity of marquee global Cricket to aggregate Indian fans as well as the prowess of my team at the ICC and our partner #JioStar in recruiting & engaging fans at scale,” Shah added.

On the field, India defeated England by seven runs in a thrilling contest to secure a place in the final. Sanju Samson led the charge with a blistering 89 off 42 balls, powering India to 253 for 7, the highest total in a knockout match in the tournament’s history, while Jasprit Bumrah delivered a composed bowling performance to seal the dramatic victory.
