India Women’s National Cricket Team vs New Zealand Women’s National Cricket Team Match Scorecard: India booked their place in the semi-finals of the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 after a 53-run win (DLS) against New Zealand at the DY Patil Stadium on Thursday, October 23, 2025. With this victory, India joined Australia, England and South Africa in the final four. The result also ended India’s three-match losing streak in the tournament. The team now sits fourth on the points table with six points from six matches.

New Zealand and Sri Lanka, both on four points, can still reach six points if they win their final group games. But India will advance because they have more wins. The number of wins is used as the first tiebreaker when teams finish level on points.

Sent to bat first, India posted 340 for three in 49 overs after rain interrupted the game. Openers Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal led the charge with a 212-run partnership, India’s highest stand for any wicket in Women’s World Cup history. They broke the previous record of 184 between Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur against West Indies in 2022.

Mandhana scored 109 off 95 balls, bringing up her 14th ODI century. She now trails Australia’s Meg Lanning, who has 15 hundreds. Mandhana also equalled Lanning’s record for most centuries in women’s international cricket with 17. This was her fifth century of the year, matching South Africa’s Tazmin Brits for most ODI hundreds in a calendar year.

With this knock, Mandhana moved past New Zealand’s Suzie Bates to become the highest run-scorer as an opener in women’s ODIs. Bates, who later dismissed Mandhana, held the record before the match.

Pratika Rawal also made history by becoming the joint-fastest to 1,000 runs in women’s ODIs, reaching the mark in 23 innings, equalling Lindsay Reeler’s 1988 record. Her 122 off 134 balls featured powerful strokeplay and composure at the crease.

Jemimah Rodrigues added an unbeaten 76 off 55 balls as India finished with their highest-ever World Cup total of 340 for three, surpassing the 330 they made against Australia earlier in the tournament.

Chasing a revised target of 325 in 44 overs after further rain delays, New Zealand lost early wickets. Suzie Bates fell for one, while Georgia Plimmer and captain Sophie Devine were dismissed by Renuka Singh.

At 59 for three, the White Ferns struggled to recover. Brooke Halliday scored 81 and Isabella Gaze made a fighting half-century. Amelia Kerr added 45 but New Zealand eventually finished at 271 for eight.

Renuka Singh took two wickets for 25 runs, while Kranti Gaud and Deepti Sharma kept the pressure on.
